R U Ok? Day

Sensus CEO, Sean Kenny discusses how four simple steps could make all the difference to a work mate’s mental health.

At Sensus we believe in delivering an excellent product for our customers every time, but we can only deliver our very best if we look after our mental health.

“Living in our new ‘Covid safe normal’ environment it has never been more important to check in with colleagues and ask if they are ok,” says Sensus CEO, Sean Kenny.  “Today is R U OK? Day. It is an opportunity to take a moment to raise awareness about mental health and support those that are struggling.”

You don’t need to be an expert to reach out – just a good work mate and a great listener.

These four simple steps could make all the difference.

  1. Ask R U OK?
  2. Listen
  3. Encourage action
  4. Check in

Mental health awareness does not end today. If you suspect a colleague is out of sorts throughout the year just follow the four simple steps above. This video is also an excellent resource if you’re looking for guidance on how to start the conservation.

R U Ok? Day is also chance to reflect on your own mental health and make sure you’re looking after yourself. What healthy habits do you have to unwind?

“I enjoy spending time with my family,” says Sean. “We often take our dog to our local beach. It is a way to get some exercise and unwind while reflecting on work matters.”

“By looking after each other we will continue to make Sensus a great place to work.”
